Fatty Liver Tests

The liver is the master chemist of the body, making many molecules and removing toxins. The liver has a wide spectrum of disease – from healthy to needing a transplant. About 70% of type 2 diabetics have fatty liver disease somewhere on this spectrum. One of the applications of the test is to help type 2 diabetics change their lifestyle and reverse their liver disease providing a route to remission from type 2 diabetes.

The Attomarker Fatty Liver Test measures the following tests:

  • ALT (Alanine Transferase)
  • ALP (Alkaline Phosphatase)
  • AST (Aspartate Amino Transferase)
  • GGT (Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase)
  • LD (Lactate Dehydrogenase)
  • HbA1c (Glycated Haemoglobin)
  • Pro C3 and Pro C6

The biomarker panel provides information on how your liver cells are leaking ALT, ALP, AST and LD with GGT to show how the liver is responding to excess alcohol. HbA1c is a measure of how sugar coated your haemoglobin has become following excess sugar in the diet. Finally, the status of proC3 and proC6 biomarkers may indicate irreversible damage and the need for a liver transplant.
