Reflects SYNLAB UK & Ireland’s commitment to expanding access to specialist testing for healthcare providers
Synnovis, one of SYNLAB UK & Ireland’s four NHS partnerships, has signed Heads of Terms to expand access for healthcare professionals in the UK to the Attomarker Long COVID Test.
The collaboration forms part of SYNLAB’s broader strategy to identify, evaluate and introduce innovative diagnostic solutions that address areas of unmet clinical need, expanding the range of specialist services available to clinicians and healthcare organisations.
Long COVID remains a significant healthcare challenge, affecting millions of people worldwide. Patients frequently present with diverse symptoms, including fatigue, cognitive impairment, breathlessness and other ongoing health concerns that can persist long after the initial infection. Current assessment relies on routine investigations which exclude other conditions, highlighting the need for additional diagnostic insight to support diagnosis and patient care.
The Attomarker Long COVID Test is a specialist blood test which analyses aspects of a patient’s immune response and may help identify different Long COVID response patterns, providing information beyond routine laboratory investigations. When considered alongside a broader clinical assessment, this additional insight may support healthcare professionals in evaluating and managing patients presenting with complex symptoms.
This collaboration demonstrates SYNLAB’s commitment to working with diagnostic innovators to translate promising new technologies into routine clinical practice through established laboratory infrastructure, quality systems and clinical governance.
By combining Attomarker’s scientific innovation with SYNLAB’s laboratory delivery capabilities, the partnership provides a route for emerging diagnostic technologies to be introduced responsibly, efficiently and at scale. It also reinforces SYNLAB’s ambition to ensure customers can access new developments in diagnostic science through a trusted and established healthcare partner.
