The COVID Antibody Spectrum Test (CoAST)

From a single, small blood sample, our Long COVID test provides a window into your immune system and it’s response to SARS-CoV-2 across its different variants, because understanding is the gateway to personalised care and treatment options.

Antibody Quantity

Measures total IgG levels to 15 SARS-CoV-2 variant spike proteins.

Antibody Quality

Determines binding strength (avidity), how well antibodies attach to the virus.

Variant Coverage

Shows which variant waves your immune memory recognises or misses.

Immunity Endotype Identification

Classifies responses into patterns including Compromised, Hyper-immune or Universal.

Note: CoAST is not a test for diagnosing Long COVID. It is a Long Covid test that examines your immune (antibody) response, allowing you to determine your immune endotype. This insight can help guide therapeutic choices and options you may discuss with your physician.

Persistent Virus Hypothesis

Research now suggests that in many Long COVID patients, fragments of SARS-CoV-2, or even live virus, may persist in tissues such as the gut, lymph nodes or brain long after infection.

This Persistent Virus Hypothesis proposes that these viral remnants continue to stimulate the immune system, causing chronic inflammation and symptoms such as fatigue, breathlessness, and brain fog, a mechanism described by Mayo Clinic, Mass General Brigham, Yale Medical School and University College London, and scientific literature (ref 1-3)

Our CoAST Long COVID test helps to explore this biology by quantitatively mapping the presence of and how strongly and effectively your antibodies bind across 15 COVID-19 variants. This reveals immune-response patterns that may indicate viral persistence, auto-immunity, or normal immune recovery.

“Our data show that around 60 – 65 % of Long COVID patients exhibit antibody gaps consistent with immune compromise, while ~10 % demonstrate a hyper-immune pattern. Identifying these endotypes may help stratify patients and personalise treatment.”

Built on UK science, trusted by clinicians

CoAST was developed at the University of Exeter Science Park by Attomarker’s multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.

Conducted on our CE-marked Liscar 6 multiplex platform, the test delivers laboratory-grade precision. Each sample is processed in Attomarker’s UK facility under UKCA / CE quality systems.

Attomarker is part of ongoing research exploring immune endotypes and treatment pathways for Long COVID. Results from CoAST are already providing insights that enable clinicians and patients to examine personalised treatment possibilities.
